Meet the people who serve this church.

Joseph Kemakolam Ikea was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and has been the Pastor of Agape Pentecostal Fellowship Canberra since its inception in January 2011. Before this he helped in church planting here in Australia and in evangelistic outreaches in Nigeria.

He gave his life to Christ as a young boy in 1973 and was an active member of the Scripture Union and the Student Christian Movement through his secondary school and university years. He also served for some years as Assistant Sunday School Superintendent at the Assemblies of God Church, Kirikiri, Lagos.

After graduating from the University of Lagos in 1984 he was filled with the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, and has been active in preaching and teaching the Word ever since. He is a gifted teacher and a stickler for the Word, and an exhorter who believes in empowering people with the Word of God.

Together with his wife, Mercy, he desires and works to see people grow into their full potential in God, equipping them to impact their own sphere of influence and beyond. Their heart is to grow people, connecting them to Jesus and His Church.

Isong describes himself as a humble servant of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

By privilege he is called to support and contribute to the vision God has given to His servant, Pastor Joseph, and he is most graciously thankful for the opportunity to serve in God's vineyard.

Chimaobi is the Choir Master of the Agape Choir and the church keyboardist. Though not a professional musician, he brings long experience: he has been a dedicated chorister since 1995, serving in the Anglican Communion in Nigeria alongside experienced choir masters.

He rose through the ranks to become Assistant Choir Master and Assistant Church Organist at All Saints' Anglican Church, World Bank Housing Estate, Umuahia, Abia State, before joining Agape Pentecostal Fellowship in Canberra. He continues to develop his skills in church music, both at the organ and with the choir.
