A fellowship shaped by the love of God.

Agape is the Greek word the New Testament uses for God's own love: selfless, patient and freely given. It is the name we carry and the life we want to live.

Our story

2011

The year Agape Pentecostal Fellowship began meeting in Canberra.

Joining a church can mean many things to many people.

Some seek out God and community when they feel they have lost their way. Some are seeking a deeper purpose. Others are looking for a way to connect with their family and their cultural identity.

It is our belief that the Church, at its core, is about finding love and beauty through God and His work.

Agape Pentecostal Fellowship Canberra began in January 2011 under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Ikea. Since then we have walked with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, bringing the Lord Almighty into their lives at moments of joy, at moments of despair, and in the moments in between.

We are committed to the teachings of Jesus Christ, and we are here to spread His message with love, patience and kindness.

Our vision

To be a God-kind of love, and a God-kind of faith-based Pentecostal Fellowship.

A ministry in Australia reaching up to God in worship, with disciplined believers who carry the Word to the world.

A Bible-believing and Bible-practising ministry, growing in corporate worship, brotherly love and fellowship through evangelism. Spreading from Australia and impacting the world.

Empowering people with the Word of God.

Our mission is to empower members with the Word of God for a healthy, victorious, Spirit-led life that evangelises, worships and disciples.

Agape Pentecostal Fellowship exists to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in Australia and beyond, by scriptural means and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

To encourage the worship of God.
To promote fellowship among believers.
To develop the teaching and education the church needs to grow well.

What we hold to

The kind of church we are

Christ-centred: Jesus Christ is our true model and Saviour. We exist to know Him, follow His example and make Him known.
Bible-believing: We believe the Bible and we practise it. Teaching the Word carefully is at the heart of every gathering.
Holy Spirit-led: We are a Pentecostal fellowship. We rely on the power and leading of the Holy Spirit in worship, in prayer and in daily life.
A worshipping family: We grow together in corporate worship, brotherly love and fellowship, across generations and backgrounds.
Sent to share: We evangelise. The good news of Jesus is for Canberra, for Australia and for the world beyond it.
Compassionate: Through Agape Care we look after people in need, because a church that loves Jesus loves people.
